TRAVEL / TRANSPORTATION

arrival into honduras and fly fish guanaja lodge :

WE NEVER GO TO  MAINLAND HONDURAS.

Once you clear customs in Roatan - Oliver, our airport ambassador, will find you, help with bags and get you set up for your transfer to Guanaja.
Transfer Options:
Flight Option:  20 min plane ride Saturday afternoon; organized by Fly Fish Guanaja.  Once in Guanaja, a lodge representative will greet you at the Guanaja airport and transfer you via 20 min boat ride to the lodge.

Boat Option: 1.5 hour boat ride - 25 miles; organized by Fly Fish Guanaja
Weather permitting we depart Saturday afternoon. Unfavorable weather guests will wait until early next morning to ride over as mornings are always calmer.
We use the best boats and captains in the Bay Islands and the ride is a unique experience, traveling
inside the reef along the east end of Roatan passing small villages and little keys along the way.

General Considerations

Picture

Currency

US Cash works great in Honduras.
Bills need to be unripped and unmarked.
Bring plenty of small bills for small tips.
O
nce in Guanaja there it's hard to get cash for break cash.

WATER

Bring a water bottle as we are working towards a plastic free lodge. Purified water is available throughout the lodge. Tap water is spring fed, safe to shower and brush your teeth.
